Equifax are an independent organisation who provide a service to companies, whereby they issue a Personal Customer Qualification & Age Restriction Check. The information that the check provides our local Car Rental Partner with, enables them to decide if a customer meets certain requirements that must be met in order to rent a vehicle. Due to the increase in driving licence & credit card fraud, in some instances, if our Car Rental Partner is uncertain of the customers ID, they will request an Equifax Check to be carried out. Equifax runs a check on the renters full name & address that will generate a score from which a decision can be taken by our Car Rental Partner on whether to proceed or refuse the rental. Should approval not be given, the customer will not be able to rent the car. Requirements for an Equifax Check include a full UK driving licence, a credit card and two additional means of ID (i.e. Utility bill - Gas or Electric etc). Drivers who hold a UK photocard licence also need to bring the paper counterpart. Drivers who hold an old style paper licence must provide photo ID in the form of a full valid passport, Armed Forces ID Card or Police Warrant Card. No other form of ID is acceptable. Equifax Checks can only be run Monday to Friday, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00.
